Embark on a journey of discovery with Jr. DEEP Weekends—a crash course program tailored for the fall. Jr. DEEP Weekends is a dynamic crash course program designed to spark young minds' curiosity in the captivating worlds of science, technology, and engineering. This program aims to offer an immersive and interactive learning experience for students in grades 3 through 8. Get ready to dive into a realm of hands-on workshops, engaging activities, and unforgettable discoveries that will shape your understanding of these fields in remarkable ways.

This program is offered to students in Grades 3-8 (in the 2025/2026 academic year).

Round 2: November 16, November 23, November 30, 2025

Students may register for Round 1, Round 2, or both rounds.

Please note it is not possible to register for single days.

Workshops

In Jr. DEEP Weekends, students are grouped by grade level and will have the opportunity to explore a series of three workshops tailored to their grade.

Fall 2025 classes will be offered in two rounds:

  • Round 1: October 26, November 2, November 9, 2025
  • Round 2: November 16, November 23, November 30, 2025

Students are welcome to take courses from both rounds if they like! Participation in Round 1 is not required before taking a course in Round 2.

Grade 3/4

Building Creatures with Circuits

Bring your imagination to life by creating light-up creatures using simple circuits. Explore how electricity flows while adding a spark of creativity to your designs.

Forces in Action

Experiment with motion, balance, and stability by building simple launchers or towers. See how small changes can have big effects on strength and performance.

Patterns in Coding

Dive into block-based coding to create fun shapes, sounds, and repeating patterns. Learn the basics of logic and sequencing in a playful, interactive way.

Hovercraft Challenge

Mini Mars Habitats

Design and build your own model space shelters for life on Mars. Work together to solve engineering challenges and imagine what it would take to survive on another planet.

Water Explorers

Set sail with boats you build yourself! Experiment with buoyancy and resistance to see whose design floats the longest and carries the most cargo.
