Penguin Awareness Day at Toronto Zoo

*The event has already taken place on this date: Mon, 08/06/2018
African Penguins are one of the S.A.F.E. species here at the Toronto zoo. Their numbers have plummeted over the past 100 years and are expected to become extirpated in the next 10-15 years. This event promotes the Zoos mission to be a living center for education and science, committed to providing a compelling guest experience and to inspire passion to protect wildlife and habitats.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Join us from 11:00 am-3:00 pm at the African Penguin exhibit where you can meet
your lovable feathered friends. The day will be filled with special meet & greets, face painting, family activities and draws for unique penguin prizes. Don't forget to join us at 12:30pm for a special Keeper Talk, and 1:00pm for a penguin encounter!

The Toronto Zoo participates in the Species Survival Plan (SSP) for African penguins, and 100% of the proceeds from a special silent auction and penguin merchandise sales at the penguin exhibit will be donated to the South African non-profit "SANCCOB" and their amazing efforts in seabird rehabilitation and reintroduction.
