Reading Buddies at Toronto Public Library- Centennial

Reading Buddies is an informal reading practice program for children in grades 1 to 6. This is a free program. Children are paired with teen volunteers or staff. Program leaders supervise volunteer-child pairs. Children practice their reading and writing. They may also play reading-related games and activities. Having fun and enjoying sessions is an important part of the program.

The Application Package can be picked up and submitted at Centennial Library. 

Teens between the ages of 14-19 are invited to submit applications to volunteer for Centennial Library's Reading Buddies program. Successful candidates will work with a younger child to help them develop a love of books and words. 

The Volunteer Application Package can be picked up and submitted at Centennial Library. Volunteers must receive a valid and clear Police Reference Check (PRC) prior to the training session. The PRC process may take several months to complete.

The program runs in July and August for 2 weeks, from 12:30 - 2:30 pm on the dates listed below.
