The Story of Us: Sharing Black Torontonian Stories - Scarborough Museum
*The event has already taken place on this date: Sun, 03/01/2020
Celebrate Toronto’s local Black history – past and present – through the works of artists and storytellers. Listen to slam poetry and Jamaican Patois-style storytellers. Watch short films from the Toronto Black Film Festival. Check out the displays and learn about Chloe Cooley, a slave whose resistance sparked the beginning of emancipation in Ontario. And don’t leave without trying some hearty foods like rice and peas, jerk curry and vegetarian/halal samosas.
