Join us for a 45 minute in-person walking tour of the museum. Book a tour time for up to 9 people in your social bubble.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Anne in Pickering ~ People the world over have fallen in love with L.M. Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables.  And our museum has been the film location for movies and television shows about the books.  What were adoption and views on education for women really like for Canadians like Anne?  We'll explore parts of the books and screen adaptations alongside real life in this 45 minute tour.

Glad Rags and Giggle Juice ~ Step back into the 1920s when glad rags were party clothes and giggle juice was illegal booze.  Find out how the locals were dealing with prohibition, what they were doing for fun (and how they got their hands on giggle juice), and how Pickering's Bert Harvey was contributing to the music scene in North America.

History Detective ~ With your Museum Interpreter's help, complete a series of riddles, hidden object challenges, and other puzzles in order to fill your bingo card as you journey through a few of the museum's buildings.  Bring your cell phone to take plenty of selfies on your journey!  This fun theme is designed specifically for children and families.

Pickering's Past ~ From First Nations to the initial influx of American settlers, explore Pickering's roots!  Find out what it was like to start all over in a new land.  Your Museum Interpreter can adapt and customize to meet your group's needs and interests!

Hallowe'en ~ Today we put a carved pumpkin on the porch, dress up and trick or treat for candy, but Hallowe'en has deep roots.  Come out and learn why we make jack'o'lanterns, wear costumes and masks, and about more of the customs related to October 31.  Come in costume if you like!  Available only in October.

Holiday ~ Come out and discover the seasonal beliefs of the First Nations Little Spirit Moon, early Scottish and Welsh settlers, and the Victorians who brought us many of the traditions we celebrate at Christmas. Available starting late November.

Themed tours must be booked in advance.  Register your group of up to 9 people for $60 plus tax (only one registration is required per group). You must choose your tour theme as part of registration process.
