Blast off with the Orchestra for a cosmic musical exploration of why the thrill and wonder of science fiction never cease to capture our imaginations. Featuring close encounters with works by John Williams, Holst, and Debussy. Toronto Symphony Orchestra's Young People's Concerts are perfect for ages 5—12 and fabulous for the young at heart! Bring your family to Why Sci-Fi? and learn about how science fiction has impacted music and how music has impacted science fiction in a one hour concert that will have your little ones captivated. This concert is conducted by Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser Barrett Principal Education Conductor & Community Ambassador.

There are two "standard" performances at 1:30pm and 4:00pm and a special Relaxed Performance at 11am.
The Toronto Symphony Orchestra’s Relaxed Performances are intended to be sensitive to and welcoming of neurodiverse audiences, including patrons on the autism spectrum, those with sensory and communication disorders, people with learning disabilities, or those who simply want a more relaxed concert experience.
