On his way to play a rock concert, clueless urbanite Skeeter crashes his skateboard into magic garden. He meets a talking rock and an empathetic, singing butterfly named Empathina who is hiding in her shell. City smog has caused a dreadful drought, and the Garden Groms (small creatures who live on the garden fringe) are too hungry and thirsty to hibernate. Skeeter befriends Empathina and together with the Groms, they bring the rain by singing, dancing and drumming.
