Real Money Skills for the Real World (Ages 8–12)

What makes this program special? Young Money Whizzes transforms financial literacy from "boring math" into an immersive, high-stakes game. We don't just lecture students about the value of a dollar; we place them inside a fully functioning Classroom Economy. From Week 1, students are not just students—they are employees, renters, investors, and philanthropists. By simulating the real world (salaries, taxes, rent, and inflation) within a safe environment, we teach children the consequences of their financial decisions before they count in the real world.

What will children do and experience? Over the course of 14 interactive weeks, students navigate the complexities of earning and managing wealth through our proprietary "Ignite Bucks" currency.

  • They will Earn: Students apply and interview for classroom jobs (e.g., Banker, Supply Manager) to earn a weekly salary.

  • They will Budget: "Adulting" starts now. Students must pay desk rent and classroom taxes. They learn to distinguish between "Needs" (rent) and "Wants" (prizes) through hands-on budgeting challenges.

  • They will Invest: We demystify the stock market using our "Cookie Market" simulation. Students learn how news affects stock prices and the magic of compound interest.

  • They will Spend (Wisely): Through activities like the "Grocery Game" and "Ad Detective," students learn to spot bad deals and resist marketing tricks.

  • The Grand Finale: The semester culminates in a Live Auction, where students use their accumulated savings to bid on real prizes—a powerful lesson in delayed gratification and saving.

Key Takeaways & Skills Gained We provide the academic direction parents crave by building a foundation for lifelong financial health:

  • Responsibility: Taking ownership of financial wins and mistakes in a risk-free setting.
