Carpentry Club is meant for kids 10 years and older
A week long program to learn woodworking in a safe workshop environment.
-
Explore different types of wood, their qualities and uses.
-
Gain hands-on experience with hand tools and hardware.
-
Develop dexterity and problem solving skills.
-
Learn about shop safety, PPE, and shop etiquette.
Participants will be supported and guided through a few projects from paper to product; they will learn to work through the planning process, develop organizational skills through the planning stages, and execute hands-on tasks to complete their builds.
At the end of the week, they will have a practical project they can proudly take home.
What to Expect:
Camp happens at Mischief Makers at 247 Coxwell Ave. At lunch we go to the park, weather permitting. If we’re indoors for lunch, we’ll watch a movie.
We like to start the day with some creative drawing games to get our brains working. Through the day we run a variety of Art, Craft, and STEM based activities with Free Time during the last hour of the day. We’ve got board games and STEM toys like Lego and K’Nex, as well as other easy maker activities available during Free Time.
