Program Highlights

  • Unleash your creative problem solving on a journey that keeps getting more awesome every week.

  • Turn your existing knowledge from math and science classes in school into real-world solutions.

  • Meet other high school students who love tinkering, building, and solving puzzles as much as you do!

  • Climate change, futuristic gadgets – how will you change the world?

Session 1 Courses (October 26 - November 9, 2024)

Engineering Sampler
Grade 9/10

Morning Course

Embark on an exciting exploration of the boundless possibilities of engineering! Over three weeks, you will collaborate with other students to tackle the future of transportation from the perspective of several different engineering disciplines. You will get the chance to experience fields such as robotics, chemistry, urban design, and more. Led by current engineering and science students, this course is packed full of hands-on activities to help unlock the fascinating world of engineering and design!

The content of this course is repeated from Spring 2024. Please don't register if you attended the Engineering Sampler in Spring 2024!

Disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering

Harnessing Electricity: From Theory to Grid
Grade 9/10

Afternoon Course

Electricity empowers us to move, connect, and create. But how do we harness it? In this course, you will unravel this mystery, learning the fundamentals of electrical physics and circuit analysis before applying this knowledge to build your own circuits. By developing an understanding of the technologies, challenges, and opportunities within the energy grid, you will meaningfully contribute to the development of a more resilient world.

Disciplines: Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering

Engineer Your Body
Grade 11/12

Morning Course

Discover the exciting world of biomedical engineering. Explore how engineers and biologists work together to create artificial tissues and develop innovative ways to deliver medicines to very specific parts of the body! Students will learn the basics of cell biology and biomaterials, exploring how cells interact with different materials and how this knowledge is used to engineer tissues like skin, bone, and some regenerative organs. Through fun and interactive projects, students will design simple tissue models and drug delivery systems that can release medication in a controlled way.

Disciplines: Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering

Engineering Sampler
Grade 11/12

Afternoon Course

Take a tour of engineering disciplines! Over three Saturdays, you will team up with other students to improve everyday life for future generations through the lens of several diverse engineering disciplines. Delve into fields like robotics, chemistry, urban design, and beyond, guided by experienced engineering and science students. Prepare for a hands-on journey that unveils the captivating realm of engineering and design!
