Full Description

CREATE Weekends encourages you to explore science, engineering, math and technology from a design perspective. Led by university students, you will explore advanced engineering topics and a range of projects engineers work on in order to build a better society.

Classes are divided by grade. Please read the course descriptions carefully to see which courses are offered to which grade group.

Grades

This program is offered to students in Grades 9–12 (2024/2025 academic year).

Dates

Saturdays
January 18, February 8, & March 29, 2025
9:30 am-3:30 pm

OR

Sundays

January 26, March 2, & March 16, 2025
9:30 am-3:30 pm

Note: Activities are repeated in Saturdays and Sundays courses, so students should not register for the same course in both schedules.

Schedule

9:00 AM–9:30 AM — Arrival
9:30 AM–3:30 PM — Lectures & Activities*
3:30 PM — Dismissal

*A 1 hour lunch break will be scheduled in the middle of the day. Lunch is unsupervised.

Winter Courses

Engineering Sampler
Grade 9/10

Saturdays OR Sundays

Join us for an exciting journey through the world of engineering! Over three Saturdays, you’ll collaborate with other students in grades 9-10 to tackle real-world challenges through the lens of various engineering disciplines. Explore hands-on activities in fields like sustainability, robotics, chemistry, urban design, and more, all guided by current university students. This immersive course offers a unique opportunity to discover how engineering and design can shape the future!

The content of this course is new! Students who have attended CREATE Weekends in the past are welcome to attend.

Disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering

 

Engineering Sampler
Grade 11/12
