Creative Camps -Power Youth

*The event has already taken place on this date: Fri, 03/16/2018
NEW! Taking inspiration from the solo exhibition by Algerian-born French artist Kader Attia as featured in The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery, campers will be guided in viewing and discussing the theme of repair, especially following difficult circumstances including physical injury and armed conflict.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Attia contrasts the idea of repair in Western culture – a desire to return something to its original state – to the idea of repair in African and Japanese cultures, which highlight an object's imperfections.

Throughout the week, campers will create sculptural objects using a variety of materials (clay, wire, metal and everyday objects).
