Live! IN-PERSON and VIRTUAL DRAMA CLASSES Fall/Winter/Spring 2021-2022
Children's Arts Theatre School

CATS (Fall Term 1) Live! In person School Year Classes

Children's Arts Theatre School could not be more excited to begin our Fall Term! With a student cap of 15 per class - and with COVID safety precautions in place, our curriculum will still be able to look very similar to previous years, as theatre can be performed in many ways! What has been and will always be most important to us is that our students have fun and learn dramatic skills! Though we may not know what a production will look like in December yet, we do know this show will be specatular.

CATS FALL (TERM 1) Online School Year Classes

This Fall Term, Children's Arts Theatre School will be offering our regular CATS classes online as well as a variety of new online workshops! We realize that this style of learning is more comfortable for some right now, and we want to ensure we reach all of our students. These classes will range between forty-five minutes to one and a half hours long, and have a cap of 15 students. The curriculum can consist of our regular in-person classes, private coaching, story drama, playwriting, dance and vocal training. A final presentation will be performed by the students and recorded.

OUR CLASS AGE GROUPS:

Junior Drama (3-6 YEARS)

The focus of the Junior Program is to encourage cooperation and group awareness. The “good” group feeling generated by physical movement and energetic drama activities promotes trust in and sensitivity to others required for social growth. The Junior Drama program is designed to introduce storytelling, pantomime, improvisation, dance, drama and voice. The program culminates in a final performance.

Intermediate Drama (7-11 YEARS)

The intermediate Program is designed to introduce actors to specific techniques in order to develop their mind, voice and body for a confident and honest performance. Improvisation and scripted scene study provide fluency in acting fundamentals like conflict, action and given circumstances. As collaboration is essential to the creation of theatre, students will develop the social skills required to find creative solutions as a member of a team, to confidently give voice to original ideas, and grow respect towards the ideas of their peers. The drama curriculum introduces improvisation, script-writing, comedy, contemporary dance, role playing, mask, mime, voice, dance and physical theatre. The program culminates in a final performance.

Advanced Drama (12+ YEARS)

The Advanced Program builds on the fundamentals taught in the Intermediate Program to become bold and daring actors. Improvisation plays a strong role in the Advanced Program, allowing actors to follow their instincts and impulses. Character work is introduced, as well as drawing on the life experiences of the actor to share an honest and organic performance. The advanced drama program covers improvisation, script-writing, comedy, classical theatre training techniques, stage combat and musical theatre. The program culminates in a final performance.

Surrogate Mother Requirements

What is Surrogacy?

Surrogacy is a modern and growing means of bringing new life into the world, where a woman carries a baby for another person or a couple. The intended parents undergo in vitro fertilization (IVF), meaning fertilization outside of the body, to transfer an embryo into the surrogate mother’s uterus. In our work at ConceiveAbilities, surrogates are not genetically or legally related to the baby and are compensated for their time and service by the intended parents. In 2018, more than 10,000 births took place by surrogate in the United States, and the market is steadily growing at 15% per year based on data from the Centers for Disease Control. And, in the past ten years, the percentage of all IVF transfers that took place with a gestational carrier grew from just over 1% to 4.8%.

What Are Surrogate Requirements?

In order to ensure that surrogacy can be a healthy and successful experience for you, the basic requirements include your age, your experience with prior deliveries, and your medical history.

The basic requirements include

  • Have you given birth before?
    • A history of at least one full-term, health and uncomplicated pregnancy is essential to ensuring your surrogacy journey is healthy and successful.
  • How old are you?
    • At the time you are matched with intended parents, you should be between 21 and 40 years of age.
  • Where do you live?
    • Compensated surrogacy is legal in most, but not all states. And, certain locations are highly valued by intended parents and you can earn higher compensation.
  • Are you a long-term US resident?
    • The surrogacy journey is lengthy and is accomplished only by working with a US-based IVF clinic.
  • Are you physically healthy?
    • You must have an uncomplicated medical history, not be over- or under-weight, not currently smoke, and be free of certain chronic conditions.
  • Are you emotionally healthy?
    • Your surrogacy journey is demanding and requires a stable foundation in your life without undue stress.

School of Rock Performance-Based Music Programs Rock Socializing— With Social Distancing

Kids have been inspired in the School of Rock community for the last 8 and half years, learning music by playing music– together. Through programs designed for all skill levels, students go from lessons and rehearsal to performance– developing confidence, talent and teamwork skills along the way. Students, ages 7 to 18 engage in a private, one-on-one lesson. Those weekly lessons come with a bonus: the chance to be a rock star. Once enrolled, students become part of a band as well, and play in a socially distanced rehearsal each week. Bands are determined by skill level and age. They practice together for a season (about 4 months) and then play a show. This unique approach allows students to use what they learn from their teacher in the real-world setting of a band, comprised of their peers. They learn to rock on stage and in life.

School of Rock community members also have access to our one-of-a-kind, fully integrated Method app. The App provides an enhanced learning experience and reinforced practice schedule. Parents and students know what should be worked on and progress can be tracked.
