Ignite Academy Summer Camp: Game Tycoons & Eco-Inventions

Turn Screen Time into "Startup Time" and Green Ideas into Gold. At Ignite Academy, we channel your child's natural interests—like video games and the environment—into powerful learning opportunities. Designed for children ages 8–12, our specialized summer themes, Game Tycoons and Eco-Inventions, transform campers from passive consumers into active creators and innovators. We don’t just play games; we design businesses around them.

What Makes Our Themes Special? We use themes that kids love to teach the skills they need.

  • The Game Tycoons Track: Perfect for the gamer in your family. We move beyond just playing to explore the business of fun. Campers learn game logic, design user experiences, and understand monetization models. They aren't just players; they are producers.

  • The Eco-Inventions Track: Ideal for the young changemaker. Students tackle real-world problems by designing sustainable products. They learn that "doing good" and "doing business" can go hand-in-hand through social entrepreneurship.

The Experience: A Two-Week Themed Sprint Our 2-week program allows for a deep dive into these exciting worlds:

  • Week 1 (Innovation & Design): In Game Tycoons, campers might map out level designs or create board game prototypes. In Eco-Inventions, they might audit trash to find upcycling opportunities or brainstorm solar-powered solutions.

  • Week 2 (Business Execution): Ideas become reality. The "Game Studio" teams design box art and marketing trailers, while the "Green Tech" teams build physical prototypes and pitch their sustainable business models to the group.

A Typical Day: Creativity with a Purpose Every day is a blend of specialized project time and classic summer fun:

  • Morning "Theme Labs": High-energy workshops where campers might learn the math behind game scoring or the science behind sustainable materials.

  • "Founder’s Time": Teams collaborate on their specific projects—building cardboard arcades or sketching eco-friendly packaging.

  • Afternoon Recreation: We balance the brainwork with outdoor sports and team challenges at Runnymede Presbyterian Church, ensuring campers stay active and social.

Outcomes for Your Child By anchoring complex skills in fun themes, children gain:

  • Applied Financial Literacy: Understanding costs and revenue within the context of a game store or a green business.

  • Critical Thinking: Solving design bugs or environmental hurdles.

  • Communication Mastery: Pitching their game or eco-product with passion and clarity.

Give your child the tools to turn their favorite hobbies into future careers. Join us to ignite the next generation of Tycoons and Changemakers!
