Weston Young Theatre Makers:

Act Now Ages 8-12

Do your kids love theatre summer camp? Do they wish it lasted longer than just the summer? Or maybe they want to try acting for the first time? Well then, come on over to SIA to join us for our Act NOW! program. Inspired by our extremely successful summer camp and driven by a demand for more theatre-based programming throughout the year in Weston, Act NOW! is a program that:

  • Develops creativity
  • Strengthens communication skills
  • Hones acting skills in young children while remaining fun!

In this program, participants will meet twice a week starting October 25th on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4pm-5:30pm to polish their acting skills and rehearse our ~*spooky*~ show Frankenstein - just in time for the holidays! They will then meet on the 16th of December for a Dress Rehearsal followed by 2 public showings on the 17th and 18th of December, respectively, at the Rockport Hall in the Artscape Weston Common. Each student enrolled in the programme will receive two tickets to a show as part of their enrolment to be shared with family/friends.

Times:

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 pm - 5:30pm
  • Dress Rehearsal : Dec 16th (4pm - 9pm)
  • Performances : Dec 17th and 18th (6pm -9pm)

Cost: $600 per child for the full programme

We are also THRILLED to offer a small amount of Scholarship Opportunities for this program! If you are interested in hearing more and/or applying for consideration - please contact us at education@shakespeareinaction.org OR (416) 703-4881

Weston Young Theatre Makers Access Fund

The Weston Young Theatre Makers Access Fund supports low-income children and youth who live in/around the Weston community, by offering subsidized spots and in some cases full scholarships to Shakespeare in Action’s performing arts classes, run out of our studio at the Artscape Weston Common.

Are you interested in supporting access for the next generation of Weston’s Young Theatre Makers? Consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Weston Young Theatre Makers Access Fund by following this link https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/12527 and noting “Access Fund” in the donation message or by adding "Weston Young Theatre Makers Access Fund" to your registration, at which point you may choose an amount to donate. All money received will go towards subsidizing the fee for SIA’s performing arts classes.

Are you a child, youth, parent or guardian who would benefit from a subsidized ticket price or scholarship? Please email education@shakespeareinaction.org for more information. Subsidized prices and scholarships depend on support received to the Weston Young Theatre Makers Access Fund.

Registrants may cancel registration up to two weeks before the classes begin. Cancellation requests must be delivered in writing via email to education@shakespeareinaction.org. The fee will be refunded less a $25 administration fee (Please note, the PayPal processing fee is also non-refundable).

Cancellation requests within two weeks of the class start date, or after the classes have commenced are not eligible for refunds.
